BOOK ONE · LESSON 097
A small blue case
一只蓝色的小箱子
A dialogue lesson on possessive pronouns. Mr. Hall has left a suitcase on the train to London and goes to the lost property office to claim it. He describes it as a small blue case with a zip and a label on the handle. The attendant finds a matching case, checks the name and address on the label (D. N. Hall, 83, Bridge Street), and charges him three pounds fifty pence. But when Mr. Hall opens the case, it does not belong to him — the attendant has given him the wrong case. New vocabulary includes leave, describe, zip, label, handle, address, pence, and belong. Workbook practice covers comprehension questions on the dialogue and describing items at a lost property office. Grammar exercises practise possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs), fill in the blanks with possessive adjectives or pronouns, and make sentences using 'belong to'.
