BOOK ONE · LESSON 081
Roast beef and potatoes
烤牛肉和土豆
A dialogue lesson in which Sam visits Carol and Tom; Tom is upstairs having a bath, then offers Sam a cigarette and a glass of whisky. When Carol says dinner is nearly ready, Tom mentions that Sam and he had lunch at a restaurant — roast beef and potatoes — and Carol is disappointed because they're going to have roast beef and potatoes again tonight. Workbook practice covers dialogue fill-in, rewriting sentences with the verb 'have', and writing numbers in figures. Grammar exercises combine sentence pairs with 'have', answer questions using cues with 'have', and match questions with answers.
