A dialogue lesson on 'had better' and 'must'. George and Ken buy two return tickets to London and ask about the next train, which leaves at eight nineteen from Platform Two. Thinking they have plenty of time, they go to a bar next door to the station for a drink. When they return, the porter tells them they have just missed the train — the bar's clock was ten minutes slow, and the next train is not until five hours later. New vocabulary includes return, train, platform, plenty, bar, station, porter, catch, and miss. Workbook practice covers completing the dialogue (fill in missing words) and choosing the correct word. Grammar exercises practise giving replies with 'had better', writing sentences with 'must', and rewriting 'a lot of' as 'plenty of'.
