BOOK ONE · LESSON 127
A famous actress 著名的女演员
著名的女演员
A dialogue between Kate and Liz, who recognize a famous actress (Karen Marsh) and an actor (Conrad Reeves) at a restaurant. They discuss whether the man is her third, fourth or fifth husband, and note that Karen looks old for her age (twenty-nine but must be at least forty). Liz reveals she is not more than twenty-nine herself. The lesson introduces the words famous, actress, actor, read and at least, and the grammar of 'must be' (deduction) and 'can't be' (negative deduction).
